Living in Denver

Living in Denver

Denver Skyline

As a resident of Denver, you will find a home offering an unparalleled combination of natural beauty and recreation – with urban energy and attractions. The city of Denver is located at the base of a sweeping Rocky Mountain skyline. Boasting mild weather and 300 days of sunshine a year, Denver is home to the nation’s largest city park system, with over 200 parks in the city limits and 20,000 more acres in the mountains. Active individuals take advantage of the multitude of ski slopes, bike trails, and golf courses. In fact, Denver residents are known for espousing a culture of outdoor recreation and healthy living – perhaps contributing to Denver’s ranking as the fourth fittest city in the country according to Men’s Fitness Magazine.

Denver Downtown

Denver is appealing to experienced professionals and families, as well as recent college graduates due to its relatively low cost of living, growing job market, cleanliness, and substantial college population. In fact, Denver was ranked third on the list of “Best Cities for Relocating Families” (Worldwide ERC, Primary Relocation, Sperling's Best Places, 2006) and has been ranked the best city in the nation for singles for three consecutive years by Forbes Magazine (2006).

Sports enthusiasts will also find plenty to cheer for, with eight local professional sports teams, including the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. Those seeking cultural attractions may be drawn to the Denver Art Museum or concerts at the Red Rocks Ampitheatre.

Teaching Fellows in the “The Mile High City” benefit from all the dynamic offerings of the city and the surrounding mountains, while developing a meaningful career in education. With all of the natural beauty, cultural attractions, and energy of Denver, our students should be a part of our city’s success story. Denver Teaching Fellows will help to make that happen in their classrooms each and every day.
